Aid Stations - Aid stations will
be approximately every 3 kms on the course. There will be 6 aid stations
for the half- marathon. Each will be supplied with Canadian
Springs water, Eload sport
drink, ice and friendly volunteers.
Start Time/Location - 10 KM: 8:00 AM.
Half Marathon: 8:15 AM
Middle of 500 block of Main Street outside of Element Nightclub. Finish
at Skaha Beach. Note: Finish is about 3.5 miles to the south
of the start but there will be a shuttle.
Course Restrictions - For
insurance/liability reasons we must limit access to the course to
registered runners only. Bicycles, roller blades/skates, running with
dogs and headsets are strictly prohibited on the course. Pacing is
not allowed. Failure to comply with these conditions will lead to
disqualification. Runners accompanied by a cyclist will be disqualified.
This course is NOT closed to traffic although efforts will be made
to control the volume where possible. Traffic is normally light at
this time of year. Major intersections will be marshalled by RCMP
or volunteers, runners will have to be responsible and aware of traffic
conditions at all times. Full support remains on the course for 3
hours. Baby joggers will be allowed, but under normal circumstances
will start at the back of the main field. If you can demonstrate to
the organizers that you are capable of running at the front with the
leaders, then special permission will be granted for a front row start.
If you are unable to meet the time listed above, athletes should
be prepared to be self-sufficient for fluids and nutritional requirements.
Shuttle - We will be providing
a shuttle back to the start after the race for those who need a ride.
The shuttle will be leaving from the Finish area starting around 9:30
am and then approximately every 45 minutes thereafter.
Confirmations - Confirmations
will be available at www.peachcityrunners.com. ** You will not be
able to change between the the half-marathon and the 10k after May
13th.
Washrooms - There will be
porta-potties located at the Start area and at each turn point. There
will also be full washroom facilities at the Finish Area. There are
no shower facilities at the Start and Finish areas.
Medical & Communications
- There will be a sweep vehicle following behind the last runner.
At the Finish area there will be a Medical staffed with qualified
medical personnel.
Rejuvenation - We will
have a rejuvenation area set up at the Finish area with refreshments,
food and coffee available. This is for athletes only as supplies are
limited and not available to spectators and family members.
Dry Strip/Warmup Gear - Any
dry strip or warm-up gear may be left in a bag provided at the Start
and will be transported to the Finish area.
Parking - Ample free parking
available along Main Street for the start, EXCEPT IN THE 500 AND 600
BLOCKS. Skaha Beach has free parking lots at either end of the beach.
What the Athlete
Receives- Athletes in both events receive a Brooks race souvenir;
Distinctive Finishers Medal(half-marathon only); well-stocked Rejuvenation
Area.
Switching Events - You
will not be able to switch between events after May 13th. Please let
us know as soon as possible if you are changing races.
Package Pickup - Friday,
May 16 thru Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:30 AM till 5:00 PM at:

There will also be limited package pickup on raceday from 7:00-7:50
AM at the race start. It is adviseable to pick your race package up
before raceday. There will be no
Raceday Registration.
Results - Complete results
will be posted on our website www.peachcityrunners.com
the day after the race.
