Have you met Neil?

Neil is the owner here at Peach City Runners, and has been here for 25 years. He grew up in Penticton, climbing mountains and running trails. (A little known fact, he also had a museum in his basement as a young man with the items he collected on his adventures.)

Neil is very knowledgeable about all things running. He knows his customers deserve the best service and is always ready and willing to go above and beyond for them. There is never a stupid question, so feel free to contact him or go in and ask if you need help or information.

Neil has been very involved in the running community and an active member of the Penticton Pounders since 1995. He was the race director for the Peach City Half Marathon and 10k for 10 years. He volunteers regularly for events in and around Penticton including the Blossom 10 Miler (now called the Blossom 8 Miler), Campbell Mountain XC, the Summerland Sweets XC, Oliver 10k, the Ultra 520 (now obsolete), the Skaha Lake Ultra Swim, ParkRun (a free timed 5k put on every Saturday that starts at 8am at the Peach) and numerous others. He also leads the Suck It Up Buttercups trail group 3 times a week.

His favourite trails to run are up in the Skaha Bluffs. He also enjoys many other trails in and around the Penticton area, including ones he “thinks” are trails (nothing screams danger like a trail that isn’t actually a trail…)

Neil’s favourite colour is blue. He loves potato chips (especially spicy ones.) He likes watching movies and falling asleep about 15 minutes into them. He enjoys hanging out with Monty (his best little buddy), giving him belly rubs and taking him out running with the Buttercups, and for walks. He likes pizza and scrabble nights (even though his girlfriend is a terrible loser and an even worse winner. Think victory laps…). He loves going to Gotta Goat Farm to see baby goats! (who doesn’t want to go play with baby goats? Okay, so it is actually his girlfriend that loves going to Gotta Goat Farm). He enjoys spending time with friends and family. He doesn’t like liver and onions, and pretends he is allergic to beets.

Come on down to the store today, wish him a happy 8th anniversary and grab a cookie while you are here!
